Preparing your Ford for the winter season isn't on everyone's list of favorite activities, but it's one of the most important when it comes to your safety and performance of your vehicle. Fortunately, there are several things you can do to protect yourself, your passengers, your vehicle and those around you from the hazards of snow, sleet and freezing rain.

4 Ways to Prepare Your Ford for Winter

Stay on top of routine maintenance: Regular maintenance is important all year long as it can help improve your mileage, detect minor problems and even reduce CO2 levels. Be sure to read your Ford's manual and follow the recommended schedule.

Replace old windshield wipers: New windshield wipers can make all the difference in harsh conditions. First, they will work more effectively, thus improving your safety. Next, they decrease the pestering screeching sound old wipers make.

Examine and change your tires: Here in Ohio, it's essential that you have the right tires. Between worn tires or no tires at all, there's a number of ways you can put yourself at risk this winter. Be sure to examine your tires, and if needed, purchase new snow tires.

Check your brakes: Between dicey road conditions and heavy travel during the holiday season, the winter months test the effectiveness of your brakes. We recommend getting your brakes checked at your next routine appointment.
